Job summary

Our Lady of Mercy School seeks a substitute nurse to serve on an as-needed basis beginning immediately. The ideal candidate will bring medical expertise, commitment to Catholic education, and teamwork to support our school’s mission: that our students strive to be saints and scholars.

The position is hired by and reports to the principal. The responsibilities include providing first aid, ongoing health assessment, and administering medication per physician orders and policies while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current Rhode Island Nursing License.
• Current CPR & AED Certification.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• At least two years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, emergency care, and ongoing health assessment for students.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and school policies.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic health office and confidential health records.
• Communicate with families regarding student medical events and staff nurses as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism and support school policies and the Diocesan guidelines.
