Job summary

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation (Site) is seeking a skilled Nurse Manager to oversee patient care across evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. You will act as a clinical resource, coordinating with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal patient care and safe environmental conditions at all times.

Minimum 5–7 years of clinical nursing with 2–3 years of lead experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred; Master's Degree Nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with state licensure; BLS certification preferred.
• Clinical nursing experience 5–7 years required; Lead nursing experience 2–3 years required.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving/issue-resolution skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all professional and support staff and lead others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care by applying the nursing process per established standards.
• Provide direction to facilitate the nursing process and ensure appropriate intervention in deteriorating situations.
• Serve as off-shift patient care representative, addressing patient/family concerns and coordinating with teams.
• Conduct rounds in patient care areas and set expectations for accurate reporting for high-acuity patients.
• Coordinate with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical teams to meet clinical and environmental needs.
• Ensure patient needs and safety issues are resolved.

Job Summary

Summary: Provides administrative, operational, and clinical responsibilities for all services in the facility on evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Serves as the clinical resource person on patient care and services; acts as the patient care representative; collaborates with medical staff, ancillary support, and clinical services in order to ensure optimal patient care services and environmental conditions at all times. Responsible for notifying Administrator-On-Call of serious issues, incidents, and internal and external disaster

Essential Functions:

• Supervise patient care through verification of the use of the nursing process according to established nursing practices and patient care standards and provide direction and guidance to facilitate the nursing process.
• Ensure appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations, e.g., deterioration of patient condition, disruptive behavior, equipment malfunctions, etc.
• Serve as off-shift patient care representative, listen to patient or patient family members' issues, documents, and complaints, and investigate if required.
• Conduct rounds of all patient care areas and define expectations for accurate reporting with emphasis on high-acuity patients.
• Collaborate throughout off-shift with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical services to coordinate clinical patient care or environmental needs.
• Follow through to ensure patient's needs, as well as environmental and safety-related issues, are resolved.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree Nursing required and Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred and Master's Degree Nursing preferred
