Responsibilities

• Provides individualized nursing care to patients based on best practices.
• Assesses patients for withdrawal symptoms using standardized withdrawal assessment tools.
• Monitors vital signs.
• Administers medication based on established protocols to treat withdrawal symptoms.
• Administers patients' approved personal medications.
• Participates in development, implementation, evaluation and modification of treatment plans.
• Provides group and individual education to patients on medications, use, side effects, and related information.
• Obtains and transcribes orders for patient personal medications.
• Responds professionally in crisis situations.
• Documents pertinent information concisely, accurately and completely per protocols.
• Assists in admitting, transferring and discharging processes, ensuring patient safety.
• Provides compassionate support and counsel to those with substance use disorder.
