Job summary

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• 1 year experience in SUD/ER/acute care/mental health settings preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Familiarity with OASAS/ASAM/JCAHO standards
• Strong communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of EMR and charting

Responsibilities

• Assume charge nurse or unit nurse role and manage shift reports.
• Inform physicians of patients' conditions, changes, LOC, triage needs.
• Enter physician orders accurately and supervise care by nursing staff.
• Coordinate patient care activities and supervise aides.
• Perform diagnostic screens as ordered and document results.
• Provide patient education and support per care plans.
• Document thoroughly in EMR and maintain chart integrity.
• Schedule patient appointments related to medical treatment.
