Job summary

Palo Healthcare is seeking dedicated Per Diem Registered Nurses (RN) to join our trusted agency partner network. The ideal candidate will have a solid clinical background, strong assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing services in acute care environments.

You will manage patient care plans, administer medications, document meticulously in EHRs such as Epic or Cerner, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN clinical experience in acute care
• Must follow NC Board of Nursing Act and standards
• BSN required or RN with ADN must complete BSN within 5 years
• Current North Carolina RN license or licensure in a participating NCC state
• BLS from American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments including vitals, exam, and medical history in EHRs (Epic or Cerner).
• Administer medications and treatments, including IVs, injections, suturing, and wound care.
• Monitor patient conditions, identify deterioration, escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Educate patients on med administration, post-op care, and chronic disease management.
• Assist with diagnostics such as labs or imaging when necessary.
• Support discharge planning and post-discharge care coordination.
