Job summary

Health Wealth Safe seeks a Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA) for per diem surgical coverage in Reno, NV. You will assist surgeons with intraoperative procedures, maintain hemostasis, and support the operative team in busy operating rooms.

This role requires Nevada RN license, CNOR, CRNFA or RNAS-C, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable, with ability to work independently. Prior intraoperative experience is preferred; benefits include health, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Nevada RN license and active OR certification required.
• Certifications listed above and current currency.
• Ability to work independently within legal scope.
• Experience in intraoperative procedures and surgical assisting preferred.

Role

Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA) providing surgical assistance in operating rooms and similar settings. This per diem position involves assisting surgeons with intraoperative procedures beyond standard nursing scope, ensuring safe operations and optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform first assisting roles interdependently with surgeons, including maintaining hemostasis and assisting with surgical procedures.
• Assist with room setup, teardown, and facilitate patient flow.
• Support intraoperative functions such as applying hemostatic agents, suturing, and local anesthesia administration.
• Provide immediate post-operative care, including local anesthetic injections.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current Nevada Nursing License and OR certification (CNOR) from AORN.
• CRNFA or RNAS-C certification, maintaining currency with both.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (if applicable), and NRP for obstetrical areas.
• Ability to work independently within legal scope, demonstrating knowledge, skill, and judgment.
• Experience in intraoperative procedures and surgical assisting preferred.
