• Identify high-risk patients and initiate intervention with ancillary departments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality within legal/regulatory parameters.
• Advocate for patients and help develop skills for self-advocacy.
• Deliver care nonjudgmentally, preserving patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Utilize nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Support quality of care and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and other health care providers; ensure appropriate referrals.
