Job summary

Select Medical's Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus South is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for per diem, 12-hour shifts, with day and night availability. Compensation is $45 per hour and a $7,500 sign-on bonus for PRN.

This role focuses on quality patient care in a critical illness recovery setting and offers orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the team. The RT will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care for complex cases, and participate in teaching.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma preferred or HS transcript/GED.
• BLS certification by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required upon hire (agency RT must have ACLS on first shift).

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
