Job summary

Long Island State Veterans Home seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join the clinical team. Under Medical Director supervision, you will perform basic and advanced respiratory care procedures, including oxygen therapy, aerosolization, ventilation support, and patient education.

The role requires licensure/credentialing as applicable and entails responsibilities for documenting care, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• AAS in RT or AMA approved program with 3 years of experience; or AAS in RT with 5 years and CRTT.
• Two or more years of clinical respiratory care experience preferred; CRTT may be required for certain postings.
• Candidate must meet licensure/credentialing requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, maintain and monitor oxygen and airway support therapies.
• Perform procedures related to blood gas analysis and respiratory equipment sterilization.
• Administer chest physiotherapy and manage endotracheal tasks as directed.
• Maintain accurate patient notes and department records.
