Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron in Akron, OH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for per diem shifts from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with compensation at $44.00 per hour. This critical illness recovery hospital provides inpatient post-ICU care and emphasizes compassionate respiratory care for complex cases.

The role requires NBRC credentials (CRT or RRT), BLS by start date, and current state licensure, with ACLS on hire. Prior experience is preferred; per diem status offers flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)
• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
