Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for conducting independent basic science experimentation based on research conducted in the assigned laboratory under the mentorship of a senior scientist. Individual is expected to seek to build a portfolio of research accomplishments in preparation for acquiring a higher degree in biomedical research or medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
1) Support ongoing biomedical research focused on women's health, including pregnancy, lactation, and reproductive biology.
2) Working under the mentorship of a senior scientist, the research associate will contribute to the design and execution of data-driven studies aimed at understanding the molecular and clinical underpinnings of women's health outcomes.
3) The position involves multi-omics integration, advanced statistical modeling, and bioinformatics analysis of large-scale datasets.
4) Independently design and conduct computational analyses related to womens health, including pregnancy, birth outcomes, and reproductive disorders.
5) Analyze and interpret high-throughput biological data (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microbiome, and clinical data) using statistical and machine learning methods.
6) Develop and maintain analysis pipelines and custom scripts to support ongoing studies, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
7) Collaborate with investigators and interdisciplinary teams to translate data insights into biological and clinical interpretations.
8) Create visualizations and figures for use in presentations, grant submissions, and scientific publications.
9) Stay current with relevant literature in computational biology and womens health research.
10) Present findings in lab meetings, contribute to scientific discussions, and respond to feedback from collaborators and leadership.
11) Support manuscript preparation and editing, including contributions to methods sections, figures, and data interpretation.
12) Assist in mentoring students or junior staff on computational tools and best practices in data science.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a College graduate with a B.S. or B.A. in Biomedical or Physical Sciences. A minimum commitment of two years is required and placement in position may not exceed three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
College graduate with a B.S., B.A. or M.S in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Biomedical or Physical Sciences

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $25.84 - $27.47 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
