The Interventional Radiology (IR) Department is a high-acuity procedural unit specializing in minimally invasive image-guided procedures. IR nurses work closely with interventional radiologists, technologists, and anesthesiologists to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Patients are admitted from various hospital units, including the Emergency Department, ICU, and medical-surgical floors, requiring specialized nursing care before, during, and after procedures. This role demands the ability to work efficiently in a high-paced, high-acuity setting, demonstrating critical thinking, adaptability, and a strong commitment to patient safety and procedural excellence. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Per Diem
The professional registered nurse possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. They serve as advocates for patients and families while fostering a collaborative environment among healthcare providers. The nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing patient and family-centered care using the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice based on research, evidence, and best practices.
