Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking an experienced Per DiemRegistered Nurse III. The Charge Nurse assists in assuring that all patient care is consistent with the Hospital’s mission, with the philosophy of nursing; objectives for patient care, and standards of care/practice as identified by Nursing Administration. The Charge Nurse develops implements and maintains a therapeutic milieu which is demonstrated through nursing leadership of clinical practice, supervision of patients and staff and education.
Our ideal candidate will have one year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, six months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity.
Please Note : This position isPer Diem and shifts vary. The candidatemust be availablefor (4) shifts per month, of which two (2) are weekend shifts, and two (2) major holidays per year, one (1) summer and one (1) winter holiday.
The candidate must attend mandatory orientation during the first 3 Weeks of employment, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH):Located on over 20 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient, and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults and 30 adolescents, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service program for 10 patients.
The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery. The Department sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights and supports mental health training and research.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, and (B) six months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.*
*Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
