About the Role:
Ampla Health is looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental team. You’ll play a key role in supporting our providers and ensuring quality patient care. This position includes a full range of duties legally permitted in California and may require flexibility to support different clinic sites.

Key Responsibilities:
With General Supervision:

  • Perform mouth mirror inspections and chart obvious lesions, restorations, and missing teeth

  • Place and remove temporary sedative dressings

With Direct Supervision:

  • Perform pulp vitality testing

  • Size stainless steel crowns, temporary crowns, and bands

  • Place post-extraction and periodontal dressings

  • Coronal polishing (with state certification)

  • Sealant placement (with state certification)

Additional Duties:

  • Support other Ampla Health sites as needed

  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor

What You Bring:

  • Current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license

  • Valid X-ray certificate

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to multitask and navigate multiple electronic systems

  • Clear understanding of dental assisting standards and protocols

  • Professional, adaptable, and enthusiastic attitude toward patient care

  • Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative healthcare environment

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

Physical & Working Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and push up to 100 lbs (on wheels)

  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, twist, kneel, and work above shoulder level

  • High manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and other functions legally allowed in the state of California.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Duties with general supervision:
  1. Mouth mirror inspecting oral cavity, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations and missing teeth
  2. Placement and removal of temporary sedative dressings
  1. Duties with direct supervision:
  1. Perform pulp test
  2. Sizes stainless steel crowns, temporary crowns and bands
  3. Placements of post-extractions and periodontal dressing
  4. Coronal polishing if certified by the state
  5. Sealants placement, if certified by the state
  6. Other Duties assigned by Supervisor
  7. Flexibility to work at other Ampla Health sites as needed

  5. Demonstrate clear knowledge of Ampla Health’s clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols
  6. Ability to navigate through several different systems

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

  1. Must have neat and legible handwriting
  2. Must be able to type accurately with proper verbiage and grammar
  3. Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly
  4. Demonstrate active and focused listening skills
  5. Ability to communicate well with the public

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Works well with patients in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirements:

  1. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels)
  2. Able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring
  3. Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS
  4. Must have adequate vision to read x-rays
  5. Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work. Must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting, turning
  6. Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips
