Job Description

The Radiology Technologist operates X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts, performs quality control checks, and maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities

1. Translate examination procedures into layman's terms to help relieve patient anxiety before testing.
2. Perform various X-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
3. Position patients correctly for radiographs following departmental SOPs.
4. Recognize and promptly report patient motor abnormalities or adverse reactions to the Radiologist.
5. Operate equipment for transferring computed images to film and archive digital images.
6. Use film markers and ensure images are properly labeled with the correct side, date, and patient information.
7. Enter patient history and relevant data from requisitions into the system.
8. Adjust immobilization and supportive devices for patient comfort and image quality.
9. Perform related duties as required, considering all responsibilities as essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
• Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State, required.
• Current ARRT Radiology registration, required.
• 1-3 years of relevant technical experience, required.

Additional Details

• Work Schedule: Mondays (8 am - 6 pm at Kew Gardens) and other Nassau locations throughout the week.
