Job summary

Pendleton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Mystic, CT is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of licensed PTs, you will help residents regain mobility, strength, and independence in a patient-centered, supportive environment.

The role offers flexible per diem scheduling and interdisciplinary collaboration within a skilled nursing setting, with a focus on meaningful outcomes and quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Connecticut Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments according to established plans of care.
• Assist residents in improving mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and functional independence.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer techniques, and other prescribed interventions.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Encourage and motivate residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions and resident responses.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, individualized care.
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
