Pendleton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Mystic, CT is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to join the rehabilitation team. You will work under licensed Physical Therapists to help residents regain mobility, strength, and independence through individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Connecticut Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT treatments according to established plans of care by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents in improving mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and functional independence.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer techniques, and other prescribed interventions.
• Monitor progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
• Encourage and motivate residents throughout rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions and resident responses.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other professionals to support coordinated care.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to help residents reach their rehabilitation goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide physical therapy treatments according to established plans of care developed by the Physical Therapist.

• Assist residents in improving mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and functional independence.

• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer techniques, and other prescribed interventions.

• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Encourage and motivate residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions and resident responses.

• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, individualized care.

• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Current Connecticut Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
