Stars Behavioral Health Group in Merced, CA is seeking a Per Diem LVN/LPT for the Merced Crisis Residential Unit. The role involves providing direct nursing care in an inpatient adult program with a no-set schedule, shifts assigned based on availability, and most coverage needed on weekdays.

Qualifications

• California LVN or LPT license is required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in inpatient mental health.
• Experience with medication administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing staff on shift.
• Document and report patient condition to Program Manager and attending physician.
• Administer and document medications per orders.
• Write a weekly client summary.
• Maintain nursing documentation in medical records.
• Prepare and coordinate shift reports.

(Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this experience.)One (1) year of experience with medication administration is preferred.How you will make a differenceProvides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
