Job summary

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) in Las Vegas seeks an experienced registered nurse for per diem openings. You will promote the program in the community, serve as a specialist and resource for hospital staff, and provide service within the program.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure and at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience in the relevant specialty.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with RN licensure.
• Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience in the appropriate specialty area.
• Active Nevada RN license; BLS/ACLS or ABLS may be required depending on role.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience

Graduation from and accredited school of nursing and three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in the appropriate specialty area.

Licensing/Certification Requirements

Valid License by State of Nevada to Practice as a Registered Nurse. Some positions may require Certification in a Specialty Area and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS – American Heart Association (AHA ); Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Additional Position Requirements

Preferences Will Be Given to Applicants Who Document the Following:

• Experience with education, outreach, data review and presentation, meeting management, and performance improvement process as it relates to Burn care and patient matters.

Knowledge Of:

Performance improvement principles and methods; specific area of clinical nursing or program focus; Regulatory Accrediting body, State and Federal standards; community agencies with interests in relevant services; Nurse Practice Act; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage and use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age specific patient care practices.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
