Position Title: Nuclear Medicine Technician PRN

Department: Adult Nuclear Medicine

Job Description: Under the supervision of a physician, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving radiopharmaceuticals to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Calculates and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes under physician guidance.
  • Starts IVs and urinary catheters as needed.
  • Calibrates and maintains equipment such as Geiger counters, scintillation detectors, etc.
  • Maintains patient files and encodes patient data.
  • Works with hazardous materials safely.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.

Experience: None required.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required at hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and techniques, including PET and CT if applicable. Ability to prioritize, perform under stress, communicate effectively, and work well with a team. Basic computer skills are preferred.
