Job summary

Newport Healthcare is seeking a Primary Therapist in California. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions. You’ll collaborate with treatment teams and connect with families, leading orientations and family support groups.

The role requires a Master’s degree (or doctoral enrollment) and board registration in the state. Per diem opportunity with free supervision and training in EMDR, ABFT, CBT & DBT is provided.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field (required)
• Board registered (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or Psychologic Associate in the state where services are provided (required)
• Experience facilitating therapy with young adults and/or adolescents
• Patient-first mindset focused on delivering high-quality care
• Cultural sensitivity and strong interpersonal relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to craft effective solutions

Responsibilities

• Assess clients and develop individualized treatment and safety plans
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions within Newport Healthcare's clinical model
• Collaborate with treatment teams and connect directly with families
• Lead family orientations and support groups
• Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans
• Participate in meetings, supervision sessions, and staff discussions
