Job summary

Newport Healthcare in California is seeking a Primary Therapist to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate individual, family, and group therapies within our Attachment-Based Family Therapy framework.

The role involves completing risk and safety assessments, coordinating treatment goals with the client’s treatment team, and maintaining timely documentation across EMR, Word, and Outlook. This position serves Orange County and Temecula.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field; or enrollment in a doctorate program.
• Board registered (APCC, ACSW, AMFT) or Psychologic Associate in the state where services are provided.
• Experience facilitating therapy with young adults and/or adolescents.
• Patient-first mindset that inspires high standards in care delivery.
• Cultural sensitivity and interpersonal savvy to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and families.
• Problem-solver who uses available information to craft solutions.

What You’ll Do

The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, facilitates individual, family, and group therapies, and provides clinical support to the program as needed.

Essential Duties

• Communicate, proactively, as the clinical point of contact with families.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapies within the framework of Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
• Facilitate new Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
• Complete risk assessment and initial safety plan upon admission and biopsychosocial assessment and treatment plan within timeline requirements.
• Coordinate treatment goals and services in collaboration with client's treatment team, with 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates.
• Complete documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress, group notes, contact notes and discharge summaries) timely and according to established standards.
• Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provides intervention/management as needed.
• Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
• Enter and save data accurately within Word, Outlook (email and calendaring), EMR, and online learning.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and conferences representing Newport Healthcare as needed.

Compensation for this role ranges from $67,200-$86,100 per year depending on education and experience.
