Job summary

A skilled nursing facility in Huntington Beach is seeking a motivated Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant to join their rehabilitation team. Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in providing therapy services that help residents regain strength, mobility, and independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assist residents in performing therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
  • Monitor resident progress and report any changes to the Physical Therapist.
  • Accurately document treatments, resident responses, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of residents during therapy sessions.
  • Comply with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and flexible with availability for per diem scheduling, including weekends or holidays as needed

Education & Experience

  • Current California licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • CPR certification (BLS) required.
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
