Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in physical therapy.
• Massachusetts license to practice physical therapy.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and time management to independently manage a patient caseload.
• Ability to attend to detail more than 70% of the work time.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and norms using tests and history.
• Develops treatment plans with patient/family and physician including goals and duration.
• Administers therapeutic techniques and monitors patient response, adjusting as needed.
• Coordinates care with patient/family, physicians, and facilities for discharge planning.
• Adapts communication to patient populations with hearing/vision/cognitive needs.
• Documents care in the medical record and assists in therapy staff training.
• Maintains professional knowledge through continuing education and professional involvement.
• Participates in departmental meetings and performance improvement activities.
