Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Tucson, AZ, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for per diem work inside Northwest Medical Center. You will support daily pharmacy operations under a pharmacist's guidance, handle med orders, billing, and narcotics control, with opportunities for advancement and a 401k program for eligible part-time staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and a Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred where required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services within established policies.
• Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and able to work independently.
• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under supervision.
• Deliver appropriate quantities of medication to patient areas.
• Assist with billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain drugs in the pharmacy per formulary; order, receive, store and complete paperwork.
• Monitor doses administered according to MAR on narcotics sign-out.
• Maintain all forms and reports for narcotics and other controlled substances.
