Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers in Florida is seeking a knowledgeable per diem pharmacist to provide pharmacy services, interpret and evaluate orders, and ensure safe dispensing for patients, nurses, physicians, and staff. The role requires maintaining patient profiles, inventory control of methadone, and annual policy updates, while upholding HIPAA, ethics, and compliance during audits and surveys.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
• Currently licensed as Pharmacist (New Mexico).
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
• Methadone-related medication knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Documentation and computer skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and within medical hierarchy.
• Ability to supervise personnel.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drugs are handled safely to protect patients.
• Set and update facility policies on drug handling annually.
• Aim for maximum safety and efficacy in pharmaceutical services.
• Avoid improper financial arrangements with other practitioners.
• Document visits and any irregularities.
• Provide training for staff on medication administration and reactions.
• Be available for emergencies and travel to facilities.
• Dispense take-home meds to eligible patients.
• Maintain methadone inventory.
• Conduct biennial inventory.
• Participate in regulatory surveys or audits.
• Perform all duties ethically and professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.
