Job summary

Avita Care Solutions is seeking a per diem Pharmacist for the Atlanta Clinic (2140 Peachtree St. NW). The role involves dispensing, inventory management, and ensuring regulatory compliance during pharmacy operating hours (Mon–Fri 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).

The candidate should have a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, GA license in good standing, and 1+ year of retail or clinic experience. Travel to the Atlanta location is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage pharmacy operations and maintain high-quality pharmaceutical care while filling in for the PIC.
• Dispense, order, and maintain inventory of drugs and supplies in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Direct activities and workflow efficiency of the pharmacy staff.
• Collaborate with physicians on potential incompatibilities with patient prescriptions.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy programs.
• Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and staff as appropriate.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Uphold a professional, customer-friendly workplace and align with company values.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Per Diem Pharmacist packages and dispenses prescribed drugs in a clinical environment and handles incoming physician calls, logs data into the computer, performs Rx workflow processing, and conducts drug utilization reviews.

*This per diem opportunity is based at the AvitaCare Atlanta Clinic (2140 Peachtree St. NW). The work schedule will vary as needed during the pharmacy operating hours.

About the Role:

• Manage pharmacy operations and maintain the highest quality of pharmaceutical care and services while filling in for the PIC
• Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs and supplies, pursuant to all state and federal laws
• Direct activities and workflow efficiency of the pharmacy staff
• Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
• Keep abreast of changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs
• Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel as appropriate
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Uphold a clean, customer-friendly workplace, and always project a professional and positive attitude
• Perform in accordance with company policies and standards, as well as the spirit of the Company's core values and goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned

About You:

• Bachelor’s or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university
• Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of GA
• 1+ year of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
• Able to efficiently work, mentor, and supervise staff in a fast-paced environment
• Capability to travel to our Atlanta, GA location and be available as needed.
