Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, patient-centered care on the Medical Unit. You will assist with ADLs, mobility, vital signs, and intake/output documentation under RN supervision, contributing to safe, respectful patient care.

This per diem role offers flexible hours; BLS is required at hire or within 90 days, and NYSDOH CNA credential is preferred. You will work in a collaborative team focused on positive patient experiences and safety.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• NYSDOH Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) credential preferred.
• Up to 1 year of related healthcare experience.
• Experience handling patient information with confidentiality per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs) under the direction of the RN to support comfort and safety.
• Assist with nutrition and hydration and record intake as directed by the RN.
• Accurately measure and record vitals and intake/output in the electronic health record, reporting changes to the RN.
• Support safe mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent complications.
• Document care activities per unit guidelines and aid with unit secretary duties when assigned.
