Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse at New London Hospital, NH. The role supports pre- and post-operative care, collaborates with anesthesia and surgeons, and ensures accurate documentation for every case.

Per diem, day-shift position with NH licensure is required. Responsibilities include admission management, ASPAN-guided assessments, and post-anesthesia care with a focus on patient safety and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with NH eligibility
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Area of Interest: Nursing

Responsibilities

• Manage patient’s admission process to NLH surgical services.
• Collaborate with anesthesia/surgeon to provide comprehensive admission care of the patient.
• Assess and document the status of patients’ health per ASPAN guidelines and hospital standards.
• Identify and report patient abnormalities to anesthesia/surgeon.
• Ensure accuracy of patient, procedure and surgeon prior to surgical procedure.
• Work with team to ensure chart completeness prior to procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in phase 1 and phase 2 post-anesthesia care.
• Assess and document patient status post radiology procedure and provide post-procedure instructions.
