Job summary

A leading family practice in Haddon Township is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Assistant to join their busy team. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, preparing orthodontic procedures, and maintaining medical records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an X-Ray License, and either an orthodontic assistant diploma or relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; either a diploma from an accredited orthodontic assistant program or relevant clinical experience.
• Dental assistant license or relevant clinical experience.
• X-ray license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist in patient assessment and treatment planning.

Location:

Haddon Township, NJ

Type:

Per Diem, twice a month

Responsibilities:

1. Assist orthodontist in patient assessment and treatment planning.
2. Assist and prepare orthodontic procedures, such as fitting braces, adjusting wires, and placing elastics.
3. Sterilize, set up, and prepare orthodontic equipment and instrumentation.
4. Preparation and maintenance of medical records and documentation.
5. Create patient file entries.
6. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
7. Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care.
8. Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
9. Perform basic laboratory duties.
10. Schedule patient appointments.
11. Manage patient flow.
12. Under the supervision of the Orthodontist, deliver and assist with direct patient care.
13. Take diagnostic records.
14. Document and prepare cases.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
