Job description

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, through its affiliation with New York City Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, is seeking an experienced and dedicated per diem Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our expanding team. The department is focused on growing its orthognathic practice and is launching bone regeneration and implantology services. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a 545-bed tertiary care facility and an ACS-verified level 1 trauma center in the ethnically diverse borough of Queens, NY.

Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents in both clinic and sedation settings and providing guidance in clinical decision-making, patient management and surgical technique. There are operating room privileges available, though not required to cover OR duties.

Candidates must have a DDS or DMD degree and be board eligible/board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. Qualified candidates should have strong clinical abilities and surgical skills in outpatient, inpatient and sedation settings. Experience in teaching or mentoring Residents is preferred. The per diem rate for this role is $160/hour.
