Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks a licensed RN for per diem shifts. The nurse will provide nursing care, using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene and evaluate for assigned patients.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting care, and educating patients and families. BSN preferred; BLS required; 1 year of related experience preferred; active RN license in Texas or compact required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families and caregivers.
