Qualifications

Florida Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center-Telecom is an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tampa, Florida.

  • Ambulatory surgery centers (or outpatient surgery centers) are healthcare facilities where surgical procedures not requiring an overnight hospital stay are performed.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, operating room, provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Experience in surgical procedures in specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed in the state. CPR required; advanced life support certification required.
  • One year experience in intra-operative setting.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
  • Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Three (1) years experience in surgery.
  • Current RN license in the state.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
  • Proficiency in OR nursing skills, with understanding of developmental needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
