Job summary

UC Irvine's Occupational Health team is seeking a staff physician per diem to deliver clinical services under the Medical Director. Duties include employee health surveillance, pre-placement exams, fitness-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations, and care for work-related injuries and illnesses.

The position requires an MD/DO from the US or Canada, California license, and board certification (or within one year).

Qualifications

• Residency accredited by the ACGME.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of Federal or state safety agencies.
• Knowledge in environmental health and safety audits.
• Skill in listening, synthesizing information, and reaching sound conclusions.
• Skill in analyzing data for trends and needs.
• Skill in recognizing hazardous situations and taking corrective action.
• Maintaining proper records and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, including reports to diverse groups.
• Ability to relate to a diverse population and maintain composure.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems with independent judgment.
• Establish and maintain relationships with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
• Maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
• Unimpaired by substances while rendering medical services.
• Current CA medical license.
• Board certification within one year if not already.
• BLS - Healthcare Provider.
