Responsibilities

• Assesses staffing needs on nursing units and assigns appropriate staff.
• Acts as a resource for clinical issues and patient-care problems.
• Maintains high visibility on nursing units to reinforce role model status.
• Collaborates with physicians and Admitting to determine proper patient placement for level of nursing care.
• Represents administration to resolve department-wide administrative issues on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Provides feedback to directors and nurse managers regarding staff and care issues on off shifts.
