Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• MSN with nursing management experience or clinical specialists preparation.
• Current licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• At least three years of progressive nursing experience, preferrably with supervision.
• Strong interpersonal relation skills and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Assesses staffing needs on nursing units and assigns appropriate staff.
• Acts as resource person for clinical issues and patient-care problems.
• Maintains high visibility on units to reinforce role modeling.
• Collaborates with physicians and Admitting to place patients by nursing care level.
• Represents hospital administration to resolve admin issues on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Serves as liaison between nursing and other departments to ensure smooth patient care.
• Provides feedback to directors and nurse managers on off-shift issues.
• Assists nursing staff in rendering patient care and interpreting policies.
• Provides informal teaching to nursing staff.
• Participates in meetings, committees, and research activities to support advancement.
