Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Assistant to support the LAN 9 E Medical Surgical unit. Under nurse supervision, you will assist with patient care activities and help maintain a clean, safe environment for patients.

You will interact with patients with attention to their developmental, age-specific, and cultural needs. The role emphasizes compassionate support, daily living activities, and adherence to HIPAA/OSHA policies.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required.
Specialized education options include acute care nursing assistant course, long term care nursing assistant course, EMT program, medical assistant program, or clinical rotation during an accredited nursing program.
Direct patient care experience preferred; if education options are not met, at least six months of nursing assistant experience is required.
BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or MTN equivalent.

Responsibilities

Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
Performs other related job duties as requested.
