Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia is seeking a Per Diem/As needed Night and Weekend Shift Psychiatrist to join its Crisis Response Center (CRC) at the HUP Cedar Campus. This role supports urgent psychiatric care in a high‑volume academic medical center.

The CRC operates 24/7 and serves self referred, police referred, and ED patients. The multidisciplinary team includes APPs, nurses, crisis clinicians, and a peer specialist to deliver coordinated care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/ Osteopathic).
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency.
• Possess or able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Experience working in a psychiatric emergency setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessments and care within the 24/7 Crisis Response Center.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, nursing staff, police, and a multidisciplinary team.
• Work with APPs, nurses, crisis clinicians, and a peer specialist as part of the CRC team.
• Participate in night and weekend shifts; no mandatory on-call requirement.
