University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Radiology Imaging U Tower is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Imaging Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging studies across two specialized modalities. The role requires maintaining proficiency in general radiology and the designated specialty, adhering to safety and patient care protocols.

The position supports flexible shifts, including days and nights, with weekend and on-call requirements likely.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic imaging studies in two (2) specialized imaging modalities.
• Remains proficient in all areas of general diagnostic radiology and must also be proficient in all areas of a specialized modality.
• Maintains working knowledge of all protocols pertaining to all specified modalities along with preparation and maintenance of respective equipment, instrumentation and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care.
• Works within defined skill sets and uses established policies to perform imaging procedures with minimal supervision.
• Operates equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
• Sets up imaging area and uses exam triage form, physician order, and patient screening form.
• Positions patient and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views.
• Educates patients to reduce anxieties and ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Follows safety procedures by assessing patient and reviewing notes in file.
• Prepares equipment and supplies; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment; reports issues.
• Performs daily quality assurance measurements and documents equipment issues.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information per laws and regulations.
• Adheres to University and unit policies and safeguards assets.
