Job summary

Greece Central School District is seeking a team-oriented individual to support school counselors and social workers across buildings. You will assist with arrivals and dismissals, run groups, provide crisis support, and help manage student behavior under supervision of licensed staff.

Hours vary by building. Valid NYS certification is encouraged, with duties aligned to the GUSTO contract. This role contributes to a safe, supportive learning environment for students.

Qualifications

• New York State certification encouraged/preferred.
• Background in social work, psychology, sociology is preferred.
• Must demonstrate professional demeanor.
• Must interact effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Support essential building operations during absences for school counselors and social workers.
• Provide crisis support
• Assist with arrival and dismissal routines
• Facilitate lunch bunch groups
• Serve as a second team member during lethality assessments.
• Manage student behavior as needed
• Follow directions given by school administration and/or cooperating Mental Health staff
• Hours vary per building and assignment

Minimum Requirements

• New York State Certified certification in social worker, school counseling, mental health, psychologist, or a similar certification is encouraged preferred
