Job summary

Torrington Community Hospital in Torrington, WY is seeking a per diem Medical/Clinical Lab Scientist to join the Gen Lab-Torrington team. The role requires a high level of technical knowledge, adherence to CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA, and the ability to assist with specimen collection and processing as needed.

You will act as a department resource, monitor results, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to training and committee activities.

Qualifications

• MLS certification or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology is required.
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing accurately and timely per policies and performance standards.
• Monitor abnormal results and document deviations from procedures.
• Assist in inventory control and provide data for financial planning.
• Train department staff and participate in committees or special projects.
• Provide educational information to internal and external customers as a department resource.
• Process and/or prepare patient samples including collection and processing when needed.
