NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in North Babylon is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in patient care and administrative tasks. The role involves validating patient identifiers, preparing rooms, taking vital signs, drawing blood, and entering data in the EMR.

The Medical Assistant will also handle scheduling, phone calls, and help maintain efficient patient flow, while adhering to HIPAA and organization policies. Experience with EPIC is preferred.

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or certification upon hire.
• Current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized body is required or obtained on hire.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares them for examination.
• Measures and records vital signs and collects lab samples as needed.
• Performs administrative tasks including scheduling and data entry in EPIC.
• Supports patient flow and ensures privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Assists with prescription refills and inbasket message management.
