The University of California-Riverside is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator to work in various clinics across Riverside, CA. This role involves both clinical duties such as escorting patients and recording vital signs, as well as administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
This unique position allows for work in different specialties on a per diem basis, ensuring a flexible schedule while contributing to patient care and clinic operations.
The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator employees will have the opportunity to work in different clinics and specialties on a per diem basis.
This position performs medical, technical, and administrative support services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations, providing a positive patient experience.
Provides administrative support to the providers and interacts with patients by scheduling patient appointments in tandem with the provider availability, interacting with patients in person and on the phone, answering clinic phone, greeting patients at check‑in, collecting patient information, updating/maintaining electronic records, verifying insurance, handling visit payments, ensuring the clinic has needed inventory for operation, and performing clerical tasks.
This position will be primarily assigned to our clinics in Riverside, CA; but on occasion it may also be requested to float as needed to other UCR Health clinic locations. Per diem appointees may be scheduled on a pre‑scheduled basis or as needed on a day‑to‑day basis, or called off from a pre‑established schedule as determined by the University and clinical operation needs.
Full salary range for the Per Diem Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator is $29.77 per hour. Salary offers are based on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
