Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking Medical Assistants (MA I/II) to support providers in ambulatory care settings. Responsibilities include chart prep, rooming, vitals, tests, specimen collection, medication administration, immunizations, and prior authorization support.

HS Diploma or GED required with CMA/RMA/CCMA preferred and BLS within 90 days. Per diem shifts; health system benefits available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA preferred; BLS required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare charts for daily appointments with tests, reports and summaries available to the provider.
• Room patients for visits using documented criteria and document vital signs and histories.
• Accurately document vitals (BP, height/weight, etc.) and perform tests such as vision/hearing/ECG.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing according to policy.
• Administer medications and immunizations as appropriate and process refills per guidelines.
• Handle prior authorization processes for medications and procedures; manage supplies and par levels.
