Job summary

UNC Health in Cary, NC is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to provide client-centered body work within an on-site wellness center. Directly reports to the Massage Program Coordinator, and responsibilities include maintaining a clean workspace, client education, and keeping thorough health histories.

The role requires NC licensure in Massage and Body Work Therapy and BLS certification, with Per Diem work and a 4-hour standard week. Experience is preferred but not mandatory for all applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Massage program.
• Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Body Work Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of work areas before and after use; maintains supplies; flexible with schedule and breaks down/sets up work areas.
• Explains all procedures to clients in a manner that respects their needs and preserves confidentiality.
• Performs health history on new and returning clients and notes precautions for massage sessions.
• Assists in marketing massage therapy through workshops and promotional ideas/events.
• Delivers safe, effective body work tailored to client history and requests feedback on depth of work.

Education
