Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY is seeking a Per Diem Mammographer at the Manhattan Cancer Center to perform diagnostic mammography and bone density procedures with emphasis on patient safety and accuracy.

Candidates must hold a NYS radiologic license, ARRT registration and Advanced Certification in Mammography; a college degree and two years of mammography experience are preferred. Per diem schedule available with NYU Langone Health benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology, ARRT registration, Advanced Certification in Mammography.
• Preferred Qualifications: College graduate and two years experience in Mammographic procedures.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.
• Acts as the first line interface with patients to explain procedures.
• Follows HIPAA regulations and uses HIS/RIS for scheduling and handling exam information.
• Operates radiology information systems and manages requisitions and patient data.
• Maintains equipment, performs QC checks, and reports malfunctions.
• Implements procedures per departmental protocols and explains procedures to patients.
• Adheres to isolation precautions and radiologic protocols.
