Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Facility Services, the Craftsman performs a verity of skilled mechanical tasks in repair, servicing, and general maintenance of the hospital physical plant and equipment, such as boilers, pumps, air conditioning equipment, electrical, plubming, and carpentry.

Required Qualifications

What It Takes to be Successful

• Must have valid California Driver’s License
• Three years previous hospital maintenance experience required
• Nonviolent crisis intervention training required within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 1) High school or vocational school graduate
• 2) Courses related to mechanics, refrigeration, and boiler operation
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
