Job summary

Rutgers University seeks a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse for Northern State Prison in Newark, NJ. The LPN will provide total patient care under RN supervision, perform treatments, and maintain a safe environment.

Key duties include data collection, communicating patient status for the care plan, and assisting with discharge planning. Requires NJ LPN license and CPR certification; valid driver's license and own transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid LPN registration in New Jersey.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License with own vehicle or transport to sites.
• At least six months of acute hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer total patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Document all aspects of patient care.
• Inform and instruct patients/families on health and plan of care.
• Assist with discharge planning and home health care.
• Participate in data collection related to patient status.
