Job summary

Ennoble Care is seeking a compassionate Per Diem Licensed Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage to hospice patients in Essex, Passaic, Hudson, and Bergen counties in New Jersey. Therapists work within an interdisciplinary team to improve quality of life for patients with serious illnesses.

The role requires a valid LMT license, flexibility to travel to patient homes, and a patient-centered approach. Per diem compensation is offered with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

  • LMT licensure required and CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Experience with hospice/palliative care preferred.
  • Strong communication and patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

About the Role: Ennoble Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to provide therapeutic massage services to patients in hospice care in the Essex, Passaic, Hudson, and Bergen County regions in New Jersey. The LMT will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, helping to improve the quality of life for patients dealing with serious, life-limiting illnesses. The therapist will utilize a holistic approach to care, offering comfort and pain relief, reducing stress, and enhancing the emotional well-being of patients and their families during this challenging time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic massage to hospice patients in various settings, including private homes, hospice facilities, and hospitals.
  • Assess each patient’s needs and conditions before initiating treatment, with special attention to contraindications due to their illness or medications.
  • Offer pain relief, enhance relaxation, and reduce anxiety and stress through gentle massage techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with the hospice care team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and doctors, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered, patient progress, and any changes in physical condition.
  • Educate patients and their families about the benefits of massage and how to improve comfort and care at home.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ethical standards, and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA).
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with current therapeutic massage techniques and hospice care practices.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families, showing empathy and respect for their individual needs and preferences.
Qualifications
  • Valid and current state licensure as a Massage Therapist (LMT) required.
  • Experience in providing therapeutic massage to individuals with serious or life-limiting illnesses preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy, palliative care, and end-of-life issues is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to patient homes and various care settings.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in sensitive and emotional situations.
