Job summary

Qualifications

• Required: One year of interpretation experience or enrollment in an Interpreter training program.
• Preferred: One year of healthcare experience with emphasis on customer service, performance improvement, training or educating others.
• Testing: Successful completion of the Language Resource Assistant (LRA) testing at a Clinical level.

Responsibilities

• Provide system-wide foreign language interpreting (verbal) to enable understanding between patients/families with limited English proficiency and providers/staff.
• Demonstrate adherence to interpreter standards of practice and code of ethics.
• Document required information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support Interpreter Services program and participate in program functions as requested by the program manager.
• If assigned as Lahu interpreter, interpret over the phone and translate documents from English to Lahu.
